The Junior Cycle History short course specification is designed for students following Level 2 learning programmes. It will be introduced to schools at the beginning of the 2023/24 school year. The course is designed for 100 hours of classroom engagement. Learning outcomes are arranged in relation to three strands:
- Strand 1: Being an historian
- Strand 2: Exploring the world through time
- Strand 3: Researching the past in my place
Learning outcomes within each strand are organised in relation to two elements:
- Experiencing and engaging
- Responding and reflecting
